Some uncommon facts about India Tourism

Visiting India is mainly visiting the hill stations, beaches, temples and historical monuments. These are the prime attractions of this Country. India is well connected by Air, Railway & Road. In this post, I am listing some interesting & uncommon facts related to Travelling in India. Yes ! It is really #IncredibleIndia like the famous hash tag on all social media!

Go Goa:

There are different figures on different sites, but it seems there are more than 3000 hotels in the Goa state. Goa is the smallest states in India according to the area, which is 3702 Sq. km. Hundreds of beaches are there in India and you can easily find about 40 of them in Goa.

Most Visited Cities:

Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Agra are most visited Cities by foreign travellers and tourists visiting India. Chennai, Delhi & Mumbai are large Cities and business hubs. Agra is on this list due to the World famous ‘Taj Mahal’ monument.

Travel by Train!

At present, ‘Gatimaan Express’ is the fastest train in India which runs between Delhi and Agra. The maximum speed of this train is 160 kilometres per hour. ‘Bhopal Shatabdi Express’ is the second fastest train India with a slightdifference in the maximum speed.

Vivek Express running between Dibrugarh to Kanyakumari is currently the longest train route in India. It connects Dibrugarh in Assam & Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of Mainland India. The journey is of 85 hours on a 3715 km railway route.

Super Luxury Tours

Maharaja’s Express is the World’s most expensive tourist train & it is operated by Indian Railways. It operates on six routes and the journeys are named as Heritage of India, Treasures of India, Gems of India, Indian Panorama, Indian Splendour and the Jewels of India. These are 3-night to 7-nightduration journeys mainly centred on Rajasthan.

Rajasthan is famous for Royal Tourism experience and Rambagh Palace at Jaipur, Taj Lake Palace at Udaipur are the costliest hotels in India. They are followed by The Leela Palace Kempinski at New Delhi and The Oberoi at Gurgaon for per night costs.

These tours and Hotels are not just costly by Indian standard of living but even the rich people in other countries will also find it very costly.

Tea Tourism:

Assamis the largest tea producing state in India. There is a concept of Tea Tourism where you can visit the beautiful Tea plantations. Such famous places are Assam, Munnar in Kerala, Darjeeling, Nilgiri Mountains in Tamil Nadu and Wayanad in Kerala.

Coffee Tourism:

Similar to Tea lovers, there are many Coffee lovers also and you can have a Coffee Tourism also in India. The places you can visit to see the lush green Coffee plantations are Chikmagalur and Coorg in Karnataka, Yercaud in Tamil Nadu and Araku in Andhra Pradesh. Medical Tourism or Healthcare Tourism:

Medical tourism is a growing sector in India and the metros are popular because of the low-cost health treatments compared to many other countries in the world. The state of Kerala is famous for Ayurvedic and natural remedies.

There are thousands of Tour Operators in India. The small players operate at City level, medium level players operate at State level or at a Circuit level and the major players operate at all India level. Most of the Big Tour Operators also operate at International Level & arrange for Tours all over the World.
